Where Is Peace?

I really appreciate Mary of the Miracles’ description of peace as something already within us. Often we can try to look outside ourselves for peace, i.e. if x would just happen, or y would stop happening, then I could be at peace.

But if it’s already within us, perhaps what we most need to do is withdraw our focus from the external situation and go within to meet that place where it already exists.

There are so many techniques for reaching a state of peace, and certainly there can be issues to take care of in our lives and psyches so they can better reflect this quality. But I think the more often we choose to go within to meet that part of ourselves, the more capable we become of taking those external actions.

Excerpt from Mary of the Miracles’ Meditation

Sweet peace lives inside,
within your thoughts’ core,
your hunger for more
sweet peace.

I am here, always,
supporting the peace in you.
I am here always,
guiding your mind toward what is true.
I am here, always,
loving you.

I am as simple
and profound
as you.

Light supports and surrounds my wishes,
transforming all with its touch,
igniting their creation.

Many of us are touched, shocked, pained at the passing of a brilliant light, an incredibly talented, humorous man who seems to have taken his own life – Robin Williams.

His warmth, his heart and soul, his amazing, imaginative funniness gifted us over many years, yet of late, he was not experiencing the joy these gifts offered us.

None of us can ever walk in his exact, particular shoes.

Yet we all face challenges. And we all affect one another with our choices.

So in honor of the transition of this beautiful light, I am sharing one of the Self-Reflection Questions in Mary of the Miracles’ section of Goddess Heart Rising for your consideration.

How can I create more peace in my life today?
